I already have multiple files in non-Unicode locale in multiple directories in several machines (workstations and server), not easily distinguished from binary files. If I recode wrong files, they get corrupted. 2. The text editor I use (port editors/aee, wraps long lines on-screen instead of shifting the screen left-right) doesn't support Unicode.
