I use one on my Macintosh -- it works great, although the drive that I
had in it (a Maxtor Diamond Max Plus) could easily saturate the
Firewire bus.  I'd /really/ love to be able to use Firewire on my new
FreeBSD box, though, and am curious about the state of 1394 drivers.

Accelerate Your Mac (http://www.xlr8yourmac.com) has plenty of info
about the ADS case, albeit Mac centric.
