it is better to not change anything, as it is not sendmail
culprit.

take a look at /etc/mail/access file (which is the base for
the /etc/mail/access.db).

think that there are enough info there to solve this little
problem.

BTW, suggest you to get more info from:

http://www.sendmail.org
http://www.sendmail.com
