I can't help with the actual syntax error, but from the path names involved here, it looks like you: 1) are using an alternate location for src (/usr/srcs not /usr/src), 2) are trying to build FreeBSD 9.x on an 8.4-STABLE box (/usr/obj/usr/srcs/src9) Is that correct? You might want to provide /etc/make.conf and /etc/src.conf from this system or other details of the "build framework" you might be using.
