I'm looking at a bunch of external raid controller systems and noticing that they are just singleboard PC's with 2 or 3 scsi controllers, some flash ram, and alot of standard ram running a custom os... Has anyone tried setting FreeBSD up to do the same? Example setup: FreeBSD system with two scsi busses, off of one you hang two drives, and stripe them with vinum. The second scsi bus is connected to annother pc's scsi controller, and FreeBSD 'emulates' a scsi disk that is mapped to that vinum volume. Is this setup possible and if so can someone point me at the right docs?
