I would (of course) recommend FreeBSD as solid, stable and fairly easy to use. However, my opinion is biased and based on having used FreeBSD pretty much exclusively on my box at home for several months now. Not having run Net or Open, I may truly be missing out on the best computing experience of my life.... But I like FreeBSD.
