I'm running FreeBSD 4.9-RELEASE (GENERIC kernel) right now on an IBM ThinkPad R40. I have usbd_enable=YES and moused_enable=YES in /etc/rc.conf. My usb mouse is detected and works when I boot my notebook with the mouse already attached, however, when I boot without the mouse attached, and try to later plug it in, the mouse is no longer detected or attached. FreeBSD 5.x behaves properly. Jameshome | help
