I belive the same fix will work all the way back to FreeBSD 2.x or
so when sos@ optimized syscons to use wide copies, but the code
has obviously mutated a fair bit since then.

The fundamental problem seems to be that the video-memory on
modern Intel chipsets don't accept 32 bit writes correctly.
