I never said this had anything to do with the merger, I was replying to DES's mail where he said that there's nothing to stop us taking the project somewhere else even if Jordan et al keep the name. I still think that's a little silly since the FreeBSD project is whatever WC/core team/BSDI/foundation or whoever owns the trademark says it is. If you do something outside of the core team/foundation structure then you're not FreeBSD in my mind. You're absolutely right though, the merger hasn't changed anything that affects that at all.
