Dan, An interesting page addressing this can be found here: http://www.plig.org/xwinman/ It's less of a review page than simply an overview of the various window managers and desktop environments that are available. It provides some basic information about them and most even have screenshots, so you can get an idea as to how each of them is organized and designed. By my count there are over 60 window managers on this list, some of which are now defunct. Taste in window managers and desktops is something that is HIGHLY individualized. Gnome and KDE are probably the two most popular, but that doesn't mean they're "the best." The one you choose depends on the work you do and how you want to go about doing it. >Will you also write which one you like the most? and maybe why? I'm still deciding. :) Matt -- Matt Penna mdp1261@rit.edu ICQ: 399825 S0ba on AOLIM "The trouble with computers, of course, is that they're very sophisticated idiots." -Dr. Who To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
