In the mid-70's, Chevy retired the "Nova" brand name for a few years and then began applying it to "econo-boxes." The cars you had were a completely different breed from the '74 "muscle car" I owned. The Nova Super Sport -- the car I bought -- had close to the greatest horsepower-to-mass ratio of any mass-produced car Chevy ever made. It was frequently used in stock car races. The interesting thing was that when I bought the car I did not know this. I was not a racer, a hotrodder, or a muscle car fan. I was a somewhat naive and nerdy engineering student. I bought the car -- my first -- while in college so that I could drive to California to take a summer job and have an easier time living off campus (I'd just left the dorms). I wanted a practical car, but with enough power to pull a trailer if need be. So, I opted for the version of the Nova -- a mid-sized family sedan -- with a large engine. That was the Super Sport. Only after I'd had it for awhile did I realize what I'd bought. --Brett To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-chat" in the body of the message
