This is a partial repost of a question I sent to freebsd-mobile; sorry to show upon on this technical list with a newbie question. Basically, has there been any progress on suspend/resume on SMP laptops? I have a Lenovo T60 (Intel Core 2 Duo) running FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE. Pretty much everything is fine except suspend/resume, which doesn't work at all. Sending an "acpiconf -s 3" causes a hard lockup for which pulling the battery seems to be the only solution. I see the discussion from back in October, but I can't tell if anything has been done since. I'd be more than happy to track 7.0 if it would help; if there are any kludges that would enable me to suspend the machine, I'll do them. Right now I'm stuck with what is in effect a portable desktop--the need to power down and reboot every time I move it makes it pretty useless for actual travel. My fault for not looking into this enough before buying it; for some reason I had the idea that it would work, as my X23 and T43 suspend with no problem and it didn't occur to me that the SMP in the new machine would mess things up. Thanks for any advice. Jesse Sheidlower
