THANKS CORE TEAM I don't know what you're implying, but the core team has nothing to do with maintaining FreeBSD's OPIE. Perhaps you should submit a patch to get it upgraded instead of screaming at people who never claimed to be trying to maintain the OPIE code. Sheesh.
