If the patched version in the experimental build doesn't has the same problem (I don't know which problem we are talking about), I would prefer if nobody tries to fix the current version in the ports. Since portmgr wants to see the patch in the tree to be able to deliver 4.11 with linux support it shouldn't matter that much if the port isn't in a very good shape for some days more.
