Thanks Matthew, thats all I needed to know. I'm just being ultra cautious. I will cvsup the 4-stable, and do the makeworld etc etc. It worked allright yesterday - when I had _no_ idea what I was doing with cvsup. A day older and a day wiser now :-) (just trashed something at the end of yseterday..)
