[-- Attachment #1 --] I recently setup a DHCP server for the first time, and it was surprising simple, once you get some examples of the conf file. I can provide you with one if need be. I think the man pages also have several. If memory serves me correctly you simply load dhcpd with the network device name you want the server to provide addresses on.
