  Both of these measurements are kinda slow for fast ethernet, but typical
for 10mbs.  Are you sure you are using 100BASET here?

  If the duplex setting (half or full) is mismatched between the card and
the switch (assuming you are using a switch) you will get very bad
performance.  The settings must match.
