The last three tutorials on http://www.freebsd.org/tutorials/ are about device drivers and may be helpful. I thought I had just seen some other documentation about writing drivers somewhere else on www.freebsd.org but now I can't find it. You may also want to check out the book "Linux device drivers" it's O'reilly I think. No idea how good it is. It may help you understand the linux driver to port it. You might have more luck studying the drivers for the other buslogic controllers and talking to the author(s) of them. They may have some documentation on your device or may be working on a driver for it.
