Under a kernel built with April 3 sources many things fail miserably with signal 11: Apr 4 19:16:01 starkhome /kernel: pid 42: ifconfig: uid 0: exited on signal 11 Apr 4 19:16:01 starkhome /kernel: pid 48: ifconfig: uid 0: exited on signal 11 Apr 4 19:16:01 starkhome /kernel: pid 54: ifconfig: uid 0: exited on signal 11 Apr 4 19:16:01 starkhome /kernel: pid 73: savecore: uid 0: exited on signal 11 Apr 4 19:16:01 starkhome /kernel: pid 74: kvm_mkdb: uid 0: exited on signal 11 This even occurs after completing a full "make world" and then rebuilding the kernel. I tried running gdb on "savecore" and it was dying within a call to strcmp(). Did I miss some incredibly important bootstrapping procedure recently? - Gene
