At COMDEX, AMI was showing off the Goliath II (Series 751). It
(like the original Goliath) is a Quad Pentium Pro motherboard.
some of the notable differences from the original goliath:
- All processors are on the motherboard (no expensive CPU cards)
- Doubled the number of DIMMS on the riser card to 16! 4GB max ram
still does up to 4-way interleaving (if add DIMMS in 4's)
- oversized ATXish (7 PCI + 3 EISA don't fit standard ATX)
(appears to take 2 ATX power connectors, extended AT footprint)
- integrated Symbios 53C875 UW SCSI (wide connector only)
(it also has 1 IDE connector)
- integrated 2MB SGRAM Mach64 (ATI) video [hey, it's a server board]

>From what the guy at COMDEX was saying, it will still be $4000 or so.
Note that it isn't on AMIs web page yet...they need to get some
people to manufacture custom cases for it.

Intel is anoying: Orion is the only chipset for a 4-way server.
It doesn't even support EDO memory, and Intel won't sell faster
Pentium Pro processors. Still, 4 1MB L2 200MHz Pentium Pros would
probably scream...
