First, 5.0 does suffer a significant slowdown in many areas compared to 
4.x.  Ogle plays fine on my P4-1.6Ghz laptop, though.  Have you made 
sure that the DVD drive is using DMA?  'sysctl hw.ata.atapi_dma' will 
tell you, and can be set at boot from /boot/loader.conf.  Also, I 
beleive that if you enable the SSE instructions that the mpeg2 and audio 
libraries that ogle uses will have to be recompiled to make sure that 
they generate the SSE instructions.
