Actually, come to think of it, I could use my RAID controller to do a "hardware" backup. That is, whenever I want to make a backup, I could simply remove the second disk of the RAID 1, insert a blank disk, and have the new disk rebuild, and store the disk I took out as backup. Then, for the next backup, I just swap out the disk I took out and repeat the process.
