I believe, the libthr patch was for debugging purposes only and is not needed
to fix the problem itself.

Did you test it with web server disabled? If so, please update your ports tree
and rebuild mpd5 port that now has "console" patch integrated, so remove your
local version of the patch before updating ports tree - my tests show that it
should be enough to fix mpd's web server too. And run mpd-5.8_1 with web server
enabled as you did earlier to verify that.
