https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D255072 --- Comment #44 from Cy Schubert <cy@FreeBSD.org> --- I just received one of these (840 G5). The 15-CURRENT memstick.img boots ni= cely in EFI mode. In legacy mode attempting to boot a clone of my Acer laptop's disk, I believe (because it flashes a couple of lines before it boots again= ) I see the same as in the photograph of the bug. I did update the firmware to the 2024 (1.28.0) version of the firmware, whi= ch made no difference. Certainly if someone wants to use this hardware one must use UEFI secure boot mode. Though I would prefer to simply clone my Acer SS= D to an SSD I could install in the new machine, saving me a lot of setup work. * I've usually cloned one machine to the next to the next over the years. It served me well in the Solaris and OSF/1 days and did when I started using FreeBSD. It's a huge time saving approach to clone a drive, pop it in a new machine and have it work with only a few minor tweaks. This is certainly a legacy mode issue. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
