The install process is discussed in great detail in the handbook on
the FreeBSD web site, if you can get to it.  The FAQ has several items
dealing with this issue.

Did you choose a standard install?

Is this machine for FreeBSD only?

Did you let sysinstall choose disk parameters, etc.?

Details of your choices would help.
