--==_Exmh_1014204464P Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii I am attempting to install FreeBSD 4.3 or 4.1 on to a Toshiba Portege 3490CT, but I am having problems booting as the probe of the serial ports causes a system hang. If I remove the sio0 and sio1 from the devices to be probed in the conflicts list or from the BIOS the system boots. This problem manifests itself whether I have port expansion device/replicator attached or not. Has any one else had similar problems and/or is there known a work around, cause eventually I want to install a modem via the serial port, and it would help to have one available.
