Hello, I’m new to freebsd an read the handbook a lot. Thank you , for this great work. Yesterday I setup a nfs server and tried to export /home like it is mentioned in the documentation. But after restarting the mountd service. It reported an error in /etc/exports . I red several other blogs and finally I got it. FreeBSD doesn’t allow to export symlinks . You have to export the real path which is /usr/home/ . After changing the entry , everything worked well ! I think the example on Chapter 28.3.1 /home -alldirs 10.0.0.2 10.0.0.3 10.0.0.4 should be changed, because it is not working anymore. Please correct me if I’m wrong. regards, Sebastian Schaack Mail: sebastian@schaack.io
