I can confirm this bug on FreeNAS-RELEASE-11.2, on a Dell PowerEdge R710 with
Intel E10G42AFDA NIC.

Kernel panics as soon as boot process tries to bring up ix devices. It does not
seem to matter if DA cables are attached, detached, or linked on the other end.
