I used one of these for years when I ran a BNC LAN in my dormroom at college. 
I needed to use -link1 with ifconfig to force it to use the BNC tranceiver
though.  Nowadays the ep driver supports 'media' so you will probably need to
do:

ifconfig ep0 media 10base2/BNC
