It is better if you do have a quite large number of users; running
clamav through procmail would put much load on the machine

Subject: Clamav with sendmail

I am evaluating clamav for use with sendmail and an wondering if the
clamav-milter that comes with it is the best approach. There are
several other milter interfaces for clamav listed in the documentation.
Is there any reason to use one in preference to the others?
