I was able to build release media from the patched tree and
successfully install that release onto a sparc V120.
The V120 is a uniprocessor, so the patch doesn't interfere
with that configuration.

After doing a fresh install onto the V120, I used the V120 hardware
to recompile and install a kernel from the modified source
tree without any issues.

FYI - the version of sources identifies itself as r285652M.

All in all, I'd have to say that the patch works well, both
on my V240 and my V120. I haven't seen the panic since I applied
that patch, and both those machines have been put through a
reasonable amount of testing since getting the patch installed.
