I won't. It's not an option at this time, I don't use JDK 1.1.8 either, but I
don't mind supporting it either.

Hmm, I think your bin-installing port is the first step. It's a small step,
since it's really based on the mysql-jdbc-mm port. I will ask the repomeister
to repo-copy mysql-jdbc-mm, after approval by Maxim.
