A word of caution to anyone considering playing around with mount/umount without really understanding what you are doing - DON'T!!! Thankfully I had my important files backed up, but boy-oh-boy what a weekend it's been. I learned a few things though, so it wasn't a total loss. (like don't unmount your /usr directory - I don't know how I managed to do that, but I did.) 2 installs later (don't ask) and I have my system almost back to where it was. M.
