I've run a VAIO with FreeBSD 5 and later 6 for a considerable time
without any real problems. I've only moved off because the backlight
is dying and (my own fault) the hard disc and CD/DVD drive is
defunct. Sony out-of-warranty repair prices make it uneconomic to
repair rather than replace.
