I had resisted updating qemu-user-static-devel because I knew there were some
regressions caused by upstream refactoring. The compile issue forced my hand
and I went ahead and did the update (since I don't want to keep branches of the
devel).

I'll be taking a look at the regression this next week. When I first noticed
them, there was still a fair amount of upstream churn. That's settled down, I
think, and I should be able to look at things more completely.
