>Environment:
FreeBSD 2.2.1-RELEASE on i386
>Description:
Using Intel Ether-express card (ix0) on a 386 machine. ifconfig
on the ix0 device causes a kernel panic (illegal page fault).

The same card on a 486 PC works fine. Although there are problems
with initial probes - which mistake it for mcd0 or wt0.
>How-To-Repeat:
Put in an Etherexpress (ix0) on a 386 PC - do
        ifconfig ix0 inet 139.85.242.85 netmask 0xffffff00

Kernel panic results - with an illegal page fault.
(while in kernel mode).
