I'd volunteer an anti-vote for CUPS.  The Postscript in fact worked quite
well, but out of the box, I had difficulties wherein text files would have
their blank lines supressed.

I've failed to purse the matter to any depth though; I'd like to
think it was solvable, but it seemed such a stupid failure for a
default install...
