Having just had to edit the ping binary by hand (for the nth time but I never keep them around) so that I could use it to diagnose a remote problem. (well actually some idiot walking into the room and pulling the terminator off my test run of thinnet and staring at it) I thought ask the list whether anyone had any religious objections to me adding an option to ping(8) so that it emitted a bell character on every packet reciept. Something like '-a': audible tone for pings. I haven't been keeping current the last few months so I apologize if anyone has already made the change. If there aren't any major objections, if someone could tell me where to mail a patch (And the format they'd prefer), I'll make one up against -current this weekend. Cheers, Bruce. -- Packrat (BSc/BE;COSO;Wombat II Designer) Nihil illegitemi carborvndvm.
