Some people have argued that ``UltraDMA'' isn't all it's cracked up to be -- performance analysis doesn't seem to indicate that it's a big improvement. I think I saw a note on news.com about it, and you might check sysdoc.pair.com, who does performance analysis on tons of hardware. I don't have any machines so equipped so I can't say myself.
