Perhaps I'm missing something, but it seems that <preface> ... </preface> <chapter> ... </chapter> when made into the TOC, looks ugly. Witness the FAQ. Now that I'm rewriting it, I'd like to add, perhaps, a blank line between the Preface link and the link to the first chapter.
