Bruce,

I'm not sure if anyone on this list represents the quality of that 
file.  I use these instructions for compiling wine from ports:

http://wiki.freebsd.org/Wine#head-6963d527c173e57b1567e881305b544d33435b6d

You will need to build a 32 bit world and some other supporting ports.  
If you have nvidia, you will need to install the nvidia drivers in the 
32bit world too.
