Hello,

I don't like this proposition. I'm a user of two POWER9 boxes, one is a
workstation used with FreeBSD in pseries, the other is a server which runs
FreeBSD in powernv. Both run powerpc64le but the workstation also runs
powerpc64.

That said, I probably wouldn't mind removing powerpc64, but I definitely
want powerpc64le to stay.

And I am not making here pointless claims, requesting that someone
supports this platform. I've already been fixing ports tree for a couple
of years and I believe about 97% of the ports already build (at least
for powerpc64le, powerpc64 has endianness issues which exist also on
Linux). I'm also a part of rust@ team to make sure new Rust releases
work fine and I believe I reported non working BETA's or RC's
already a couple of times and those reports were quickly taken care of
by (usually) jhibbits@.
So I don't think you can say that reports about bugs go into the void.

Another point: removing 32-bit architectures is about removing support
for legacy hardware. POWER is anything but legacy, it's a modern, still
developed architecture and while FreeBSD may not have the support for
its newest iteration, the hardware that currently is supported is still
much faster than most of amd64 systems being used nowadays.
My server is a bulk ports builder and also serves as my OpenVPN
endpoint, mail server, Nextcloud etc. All of that works just fine
(currently on 14.3-RELEASE).
