I am pleased to be able to announce 1.4.2 patchset 6.
This patchset should be suitable for most applications. The JDK it produces
is de facto compliant, if you recompile Open Motif with the included patches.
Use in a production environment is still at your own risk.
This patchset is mainly a bugfix release over 1.4.2p5, with the exception
being the change of the default threads library for -CURRENT to be libkse
rather than libc_r. Some of the fixes are:
1. Fixes to JavaWS support.
2. Fix a problem with some missing fonts.
3. Fix the -Xrs switch to work on FreeBSD.
4. Improved NetBSD support.
Thanks again to all the hard work by the BSD Java Porting Team, particularly
Alexey Zelkin and Christos Zoulas, and to the FreeBSD Foundation for their
continued support.
The patchset can, as usual, be downloaded from
http://www.eyesbeyond.com/freebsddom/java/jdk14.html
I believe Alexey will update the jdk14 port shortly.
