Your best bet would be to search these mailing lists for the following words (not necessarily in the same search). uw-imap qpopper courier cyrus postfix qmail that will turn up a lot of information on what other people are recommending. I myself use uw-imap, but our company is only 7 people so I don't have any capacity issues to deal with.
