	my take of the idea of man pages is simple: they serve as a concise
	summary of a program you already know.  maybe you've forgotten a 'w' flag
	or switch.  otherwise, a number of examples are worth ten thousand words.
	----the gotcha is that examples take a lot of skill... .  and, yes, the
	better programs with man pages do have examples!
