https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=199356 Bug ID: 199356 Summary: [carp] [vlan] stuck in INIT state Product: Base System Version: 11.0-CURRENT Hardware: mips OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: harm@weites.com Trying to setup carp on a vlan interface on the tplink 1043nd (MIPS) fails: ifconfig vlan1 alias vhid 8 pass none 1.1.1.1/24 up vlan1: flags=8943<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,PROMISC,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500 ether 90:f6:52:33:51:74 inet6 fe80::92f6:52ff:fe33:5174%vlan1 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0xb inet 10.9.0.12 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 10.9.0.255 inet 1.1.1.1 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 1.1.1.255 vhid 8 nd6 options=21<PERFORMNUD,AUTO_LINKLOCAL> media: Ethernet 1000baseT <full-duplex> status: active vlan: 1 parent interface: arge0 carp: INIT vhid 8 advbase 1 advskew 0 groups: vlan Stuck in INIT state and no mcast packages in tcpdump. I observed the same on a Pi (ARM) and a virtualbox instance with e1000 interface (am64), though those could not be easily reproduced. Configuring with/without specifically putting the interface in a up state, I've read about this on the ML. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
