If Linus uses BitKeeper to store his "backups", that's just fine and good.
The point still remains that the list of people who can commit changes to
the official Linux kernel remains at:
Linus Torvalds

Bitkeeper has been publically available for quite some time; our system
engineering group evaluated it last summer before choosing Perforce.
It seems quite effective, but doesn't seem to scale well to geographically
distributed development teams.
