pcm is mutually exclusive with voxware (controller snd0, devices
sb0...awe0). pcm supports only audio (no midi,synth,wavetable) but on a
much larger set of cards and hopefully the code is more reliable.

in any case you have both drivers in the source tree so you can at
least chose what's better for you.
