Negatory.  There has been a desire to keep the tree X11 clean.  But there's
also a desire to keep packages intact.  Jordan killed off useful functionality
when he removed xditview.

I don't see what the problem is.  If you don't set the variable, it won't build.

  I agree 100% with Jordan.  This was a significant step backwards.
  There has always been agreement that X11 code doesn't belong in
