My pentium 133 runs fine, albeit slow when it comes to compiling and other
complex tasks. I think you'll be ok as long as you run command line
interface only.
I'm not a real fan of GUI's for unix anyway. I had some experience using X
under Linux and found it to be terribly unstable, dropping core every which
way. Although it makes menial tasks like adding users very simple and it is
intuitive in that respect. And it does cute things like transparent
windows... gimp is every bit as good (and then some) as Photoshop.
The solaris boxes that we use here run X pretty good. They'll run for
months on end without incident. It's a hardware thing I guess.
If you have many of those units "laying around" you may consider parallel
processing. Just a thought.

I have some older pentium 90 and 120 machines laying around. Would one of
them support FreeBSD while I test drive it. If not, what are the minimums
for hardware?
